One-off and casual jobs are normally filled within a week while permanent jobs can take longer. Sometimes it can take a few weeks to hear back from the employer.
Though we endeavour to ensure that all applicants are informed of the outcomes of their applications, this is not always possible. If you're waiting to hear back, there are a few things you can do.
- Double check My Applications for any additional instructions you may have missed. If your application is under the Inactive tab, then unfortunately you have been unsuccessful.
- Make sure your proof of studies has been approved. Your applications will not be viewed by employers until our team has verified that you are eligible to use SJS.
- Follow up with the employer. Sometimes, the employer will leave a contact number or email in the Next Steps section of your application. If it has been a while and you are still waiting to hear back, you may wish to give them a follow up call or email.
