If your NZQA-approved tertiary course is three years or longer, you can use Student Job Search for up to two calendar years after you graduate.

For example, if your degree finished in November 2022, you are able to use Student Job Search until 31 December 2024.

We define the end date of your course as being the day you complete your last course requirement (for example: submit your last assignment or take your last exam), not the date you receive your qualification or have your graduation ceremony.

For the first year after you graduate you can apply for any jobs on Student Job Search. For the second year after you graduate, you will not be able to apply for casual or one-off roles.

We list one-off and casual roles predominantly to help those currently studying to find flexible work arrangements during their studies and encourage our graduate students to enter the permanent New Zealand workforce.

Short course graduates

If you have graduated from a short course (less than three years), you can use Student Job Search until the end of the calendar year during which your studies ended. For example, if your short course finished in June 2022, you may continue to use Student Job Search until 31 December 2022.
